They work closely with shelters near and far to help reduce the rate of euthanasia for dogs in the eleventh hour. Animals in this program are usually too young or too sick to survive in their current environment. With only a $25 fee, BCAC is the most affordable option for pet adoption in the county. Adopting from BCAC can directly save a companion animal from risk of euthanasia. The shelter is open 5 days a week (closed Sun/Wed) for adoptions at 6401 Bay Line Dr, Panama City, FL. BCAC works dilligently to coordinate with all rescues in Bay County to find fosters for adoptable pets whenever possible. Unfortunately the volume of surrenders has been a huge challenge.

Saint Joseph Bay Humane Society

St. Joseph Bay Humane Society is located just north of downtown Port St. Joe, FL. They serve all of Gulf County, FL and work in tandem with nearby Animal Control. They take in more than 500 animals every year. Dedicated to relieving animal suffering, preventing animal cruelty, promoting human education and enhancing the animal and human bond. The Lucky Puppy Rescue

Since 2008, thousands of neglected, abandoned, and abused dogs in the Florida panhandle have been saved by Lucky Puppy. At the 125 acre farm in Bonifay, Florida, they are fed, vetted, cleaned, socialized, fixed, and cared for until they are ready for adoption. Many are transported on a 24 hour bus trip to Lucky Puppy New York where they will seek their forever families.
